Testimonial

Kind words from one of my previous students!

This was life changing

I booked mentoring with Helen at exactly the right time. I was feeling lost creatively and needed help finding my feet again.
Every session felt relaxed and supportive, and Helen took the time to properly understand what I was trying to achieve. Her guidance has made a huge difference to my mindset, confidence in my work, and creative direction. I always came away motivated and excited to put new ideas into practice.”

Who is This Education For?

Photographers who already have a business, but feel a bit stuck when it comes to confidence, clarity, or direction.

You might recognise yourself if you:

  • Struggle to describe your style beyond “natural” or “documentary” (and not even sure that’s accurate)
  • Aren’t totally sure who your work is actually attracting
  • Never sure what to post on social media or what to write
  • Your approach to flash is put it in TTL and pray it works
  • Find yourself dreading low-light venues , bad weather and avoiding winter weddings
  • Feel like your work hasn’t progressed recently and you’re shooting weddings in auto-pilot – using the same set ups and techniques
  • Want honest feedback and guidance, not generic business advice

You don’t need to have it all figured out — that’s what we work on together!

I know that taking the leap could be scary, appear risky or expensive, but if our work together helps you secure just one booking, the mentoring has paid for itself. It’s a much better spend than a new lens you don’t really need!

My Teaching Philosophy – Why Learn With Me?

My approach is grounded in:

  • Practical, real‑world teaching that works on actual wedding days
  • Sharing and developing together lighting methods that suit your style. You don’t need to want to shoot like me to learn from me.
  • Helping you understanding why things work, not just copying settings.
  • Supportive, inclusive, ego‑free learning spaces – where are my other neurospicy peeps at?!
  • Tailor-made sessions to suit each of my new besties – no cut and paste education for you!

Whether we’re talking about lighting, shooting mindset, or how you present your work online, my goal is always the same: to help you feel clearer, more confident, and more at ease in your photography and your business.

It was such an eye-opener

I just wanted to say thank you for all your help. I’ve gained so much more confidence and understanding in my wedding photography — especially with camera settings and lighting setups.
Things feel less stressful and much more enjoyable now. I can work things out more easily, be more creative, and actually play with light thanks to your mentoring.”

Mentoring for Photographers

My mentoring is designed to help photographers feel more confident in their work and clearer in how they present themselves online.
We start by looking at:

  • Your brand, values, and visual identity
  • How you’re currently communicating online
  • Your photography and shooting habits
  • How your work could be refined

From there, sessions are shaped around you – whether that’s flash confidence, editing consistency, creative direction, full wedding critiques, or refining how you show up to the right clients. I also open up shadowing opportunities at real weddings to my mentoring clients first – these aren’t guaranteed but I try my best! Both options offer 2 hours per month, with flexible session formats.

My mentoring is designed to support photographers over time — because real confidence, clarity, and growth don’t usually happen in a single session.

All mentoring is 1-to-1, personalised, and shaped around you — your work, your brand, and what you actually need right now.

Mentoring options include:

  • Clarity – 3 month mentoring plan
  • Refine – 6 month mentoring plan

Not Sure Which Option Is Right?

If you’re unsure whether 3 or 6 months is the best fit, we can talk it through.

The Perfect Pick ‘n’ Mix

Because we all have different goals and areas to improve

Here are some of the most popular 2 hour sessions my clients have enjoyed and learnt from in their mentoring:

  • From TTL to Manual – finally being the lighting boss
  • Lighting ceremonies and family formals
  • How to use direct light – posing for couples when you don’t have open shade (including golden hour)
  • F*ck Culling – how to save time using Aftershoot
  • Editing consistency – get your galleries looking like they were shot by the same photographer
  • RAW to Phwoar – advanced editing techniques for portfolio and awards entries using LR and PS

You don’t need to stick to these, but they have had great feedback and helped my mentees make huge progress!

Helen gave me confidence to move forward.

I’m an experienced photographer, but before my session with Helen I felt completely stuck. My bookings were down and I wasn’t sure why. Helen’s honest, direct review of my website and messaging helped me step back and look at my business more clearly. It wasn’t about marketing tactics or quick fixes – it was about understanding what I was communicating and why it wasn’t landing. Over the following months, my bookings increased significantly, but more importantly, I finally felt aligned with my work again. Helen’s ability to give thoughtful, constructive feedback – even when it’s hard to hear – is incredibly valuable”
